Workforce Solutions of Providence/Cranston is an employment and training resource that provides market-based services for employers and jobseekers. The organization is one of Rhode Island’s two local Workforce Development Boards and works with business, labor, education, and community partners to support workforce development and training initiatives..

TradesUp Initiative

TradesUp Initiative is a nonprofit organization focused on technical trade training, mentorship, and career development opportunities for underserved and marginalized students and individuals in New England. Its focus areas include skilled trades exposure and training, mentorship, financial literacy, job placement through internships, and affordable housing education.

Housing and Human Services & PEMA

Providence Emergency Management Agency (PEMA): PEMA helps residents and neighborhoods prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. Its public resources include preparedness materials, community outreach, and volunteer opportunities related to emergency response, resilience, and public safety.

City of Providence Housing and Human Services: The City’s Housing and Human Services department works to improve the lives and living conditions of Providence residents by supporting strategies that strengthen neighborhoods, enhance public health, expand opportunity, and support stable communities.

Providence Recreation

Providence Recreation offers programs, activities, and community engagement opportunities for Providence residents through its recreation centers and citywide programming. The department’s public-facing site highlights a broad range of programs intended to support fun, learning, and community connection.
